Case Study
This is a 30 year old female who complained of increasingly heavy menses and pain. Ultrasound revealed a 3 cm fibroid tumor 1/3 protruding into the uterine cavity and 2/3 in the muscle of the uterus. Using a mechanical morcellator, guided by a hysteroscope, the fibroid tumor was resected in an outpatient facility. The procedure was completed under 15 min and the patient was sent home the same day and was able to return to work the following day.
