When should I get a Cosmetic Gynecology procedure?

Cosmetic Gynecology is a blanket term for a number of Cosmetic Gynecologic procedures that are performed to enhance the appearance and sometimes the function of the vagina and labia. You can get a cosmetic procedure whenever you feel the need to. These procedures can either be surgical or non-surgical. These procedures are usually elective and can be combined with other restorative vaginal procedures that are medically necessary.

Can I have multiple gynecologic cosmetic procedures done at the same time?

Yes, you can have multiple procedures at the same time. In fact, certain procedures such as Labiaplasty and Clitoral Hood Reduction are usually performed at the same time.

What are the potential complications of Cosmetic Gynecologic surgery?

The majority of these procedures are safe with low risk. As with any type of surgery, there is a risk of infection, bleeding, scarring, and painful intercourse and overcorrection.

What is the difference between laser and surgical procedures?

Laser vaginal rejuvenation works to tighten the vaginal tissue and promote connective tissue growth that increases lubrication. It is an office procedure with little downtime or need for anesthetics.

The surgical vaginal procedure aims to correct deeper layer defects and damage usually sustained from birth trauma.

How long do the Cosmetic Gynecology procedures take?

On average, Cosmetic Gynecologic procedures take about 30 minutes to 2 hours depending on the repair. Return back to 80% of usual activity takes another 1-2 weeks and full recovery 6 weeks.
